Fancy Footwork or Footloose?
My previous mock-up for the rope packaging was in dire need of some innovative ideas for what is normally a very simple design. Yet again, I plan to find my strength in the di-cut in order to add a level of surprise and separate this piece from other rope packaging.

Specialty Piece- Rope packaging
I decided to design rope packaging for my specialty piece. From belaying in a gym to lead climbing outdoors, climbing rope is an essential aspect of rock climbing. I incorporated a black carabiner which carries over from the double black carabiners in my logo. I have decided to use a camo-esque colored rope to keep the natural and neutral color pallet from previous pieces cohesive. This is my mock up for the package design (a little rough) however the color pallet and some aspects of the design have been changed since.

BELAY & SAVE
A little more splash of color and time, sprinkled with typography = almost there! Now to add just a little copy and the WCRC logo left to add to the poster design.

Personal logo redemption
It has taken far too long but I have not been satisfied with any design I have attempted thus far to suit me for my personal logo. So, after stopping at all the bases: the bad, ugly, and the corny; I think I can finally settle this issue once and for all. Case closed. Home run. C'est la vie! And I am extremely pleased with the verdict!

Appealing to the masses: Advertisement re-design
Well, my advertisement scheme will not be as 'provocative' as I had originally intended (perhaps for the best). However, the more 'scandalous' ads will be used in my mailer, which, after much thought, I feel is a better marketing scheme. I wanted to keep the ads a little safer due to the fact that I am trying to appeal to all levels of possible clientele, which, range from children as young as five years of age, to those deemed 'middle age'.

WCRC Advertisement
These are the two type treatments I was thinking of for the advertisement seen. They would be carried through to the other two ads as well to keep consistency through out the pieces. Take a look and tell me what you think!

Revisions to The Lobster Pot lunch menu design
This is my latest draft to the menu design. This design was done for my entry level typography class. We had to pick a restaurant off of a list that was provided prior to seeing the menu that we would be designing. Therefore, we had to design the logo first, and then, design the menu secondly. I went back and corrected some typographical errors as well as some acstetic issues within the menu design in order to make the menu have a more cohesive and professional feel.

Thinking outside the box
I have changed quite a lot about my business card design and I am feeling confident that I am heading in a much more effective and overall aesthetically pleasing direction. I realized that I needed to further push the liberating feeling of the rock climbing experience. So, I had to think outside the box. No straight borders. Calculated holds...Something surprising and full of life yet relaxing at the same time; in two words: rock climbing. My plan is to find my strength in the di-cut. I plan to di-cut either one, or both, where the mountains peak and the carabiner curves.

YES! Its all finally coming together!
I am feeling relieved (finally) and I am pretty confident or, at least, satisfied, with the way my stationary set has turned out. With one more critique to go I can not wait to see my final product now, which is such a relief after my VERY rocky start with my first logo. These are the pieces before the adjustments I will be making post printing (which includes embossing for the mountains and burning the hooks).

Final, finally?
Well, some drastic changes have been made to the overall layout/appearance of my business card design. However, I used pre-existing pieces that I had made for this design but had left on the back burner. I am still not completely content with the overall design but I feel this is a much better direction than the previous business cards I had made.

Business card exploration
After some thought and some new inspiration, I have decided to change some aspects of the design for the rock climbing company. After trying some designs using my original colored logo, I have decided to drop the orange and blue color scheme. I want to communicate a masculine aesthetic that is associated with rock climbing. So, now, for the color scheme, I am working with the grey scale to mimic natural rock and a "burned" feel...
For right now...
The business card outlined in red is my finalized idea (...maybe?), and, once printed, the carabiner will be burned onto the page to add an interesting dynamic and texture to the piece.

Drum roll please!
Well, draft after draft and I feel I have finally reached the point where I can say the words: I have my final logo completed! It took a LOT of blunders to get here, but I am pleased with how this version has turned out. I hope you agree!

well...
Here is a finalized version of my last idea for the Wall Crawler Company Logo....However, after all the work, this did not turn out at all how I had envisioned it, therefore, this is not my last version. I need to clean up and de-clutter the design. I have the pieces, now its just time to organize them in a smart and simplified manner to create that professional aesthetic.

Tying it all together
Well, that light bulb of inspiration finally went on! I decided to incorporate the ropes used in belaying for rock climbing because I felt it more appropriate for the word "wall crawler". I also used a carabiner (A hook that I used for the 'C'). I then mimicked some of the knots used in belaying through out the letters.
