WCRC Advertisement

These are the two type treatments I was thinking of for the advertisement seen. They would be carried through to the other two ads as well to keep consistency through out the pieces. Take a look and tell me what you think!

Revisions to The Lobster Pot lunch menu design

This is my latest draft to the menu design. This design was done for my entry level typography class. We had to pick a restaurant off of a list that was provided prior to seeing the menu that we would be designing. Therefore, we had to design the logo first, and then, design the menu secondly. I went back and corrected some typographical errors as well as some acstetic issues within the menu design in order to make the menu have a more cohesive and professional feel.

Thinking outside the box

I have changed quite a lot about my business card design and I am feeling confident that I am heading in a much more effective and overall aesthetically pleasing direction. I realized that I needed to further push the liberating feeling of the rock climbing experience.  So, I had to think outside the box. No straight borders. Calculated holds...Something surprising and full of life yet relaxing at the same time; in two words: rock climbing. My plan is to find my strength in the di-cut. I plan to di-cut either one, or both, where the mountains peak and the carabiner curves.

  • (On all three: mountains and/or hooks di-cut along edges)

  • Top: Front of business card
  • Middle: back of business card with information
  • Bottom: Second idea for front of business card (broken borders)

YES! Its all finally coming together!

I am feeling relieved (finally) and I am pretty confident or, at least, satisfied, with the way my stationary set has turned out. With one more critique to go I can not wait to see my final product now, which is such a relief after my VERY rocky start with my first logo. These are the pieces before the adjustments I will be making post printing (which includes embossing for the mountains and burning the hooks).

Final, finally?

Well, some drastic changes have been made to the overall layout/appearance of my business card design. However, I used pre-existing pieces that I had made for this design but had left on the back burner. I am still not completely content with the overall design but I feel this is a much better direction than the previous business cards I had made.
